Texas AG Announces Over 18,000 Arrests by Texas Fugitive Apprehension Unit

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that the Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) has made a total of 18,291 arrests since its establishment. The unit has also been instrumental in securing hundreds of convictions related to child exploitation and human trafficking. Among the arrests, 68 were from the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Top 10 Most Wanted List, and 186 missing children have been recovered. The Child Exploitation Unit alone has conducted 278 arrests for online solicitation of minors, leading to 214 convictions, while the Human Trafficking Unit has made 373 arrests with 126 convictions.
