Exclusive Poll Reveals What Concerns Texas Voters Ahead of Elections

· Telemundo McAllen (KTLM)

With just weeks to go before the general elections on November 3, an exclusive Telemundo poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy provides a snapshot of Texas voters' preferences and concerns. From the races for governor and the U.S. Senate to the cost of living, immigration, education, fertility treatments, and artificial intelligence data centers, the results show an electorate whose opinions do not always align with party divisions. The general survey was conducted from September 8 to 10 among 625 registered Texas voters who indicated they were likely to participate in the November elections. The margin of error is plus or minus four percentage points. In the gubernatorial race, Republican Greg Abbott leads with 48% support compared to 41% for Democrat Gina Hinojosa. Libertarian Pat Dixon receives 1%, independent candidate Jenn Mack Raphoon gets 2%, while 8% remain undecided. The gap narrows significantly in the U.S. Senate race, where Democrat James Talarico has 46% compared to Republican Ken Paxton's 43%. Libertarian Ted Brown receives 3%, and 8% remain undecided. The difference between Talarico and Paxton falls within the poll's margin of error, meaning the results do not establish a statistically clear advantage. The results also show significant regional differences. In the gubernatorial race, Hinojosa leads with 48% compared to Abbott's 41% in South Texas. For the Senate, Talarico has 54% against Paxton's 35% in the same region. The margin of error is larger for regional subgroups.
