According to an affidavit, the victim was walking calmly when Ramos's vehicle accelerated toward him, resulting in injuries. Surveillance footage contradicted Ramos's claim that the victim was fleeing. Ramos was arrested on June 8, 2026, and charged with aggravated assault. As of Tuesday, he was not listed as an inmate in Cameron County jail.
