The accident occurred in the early hours of June 26 when 43-year-old David Moreno was riding his bicycle in the center turn lane of North McColl Road and was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. The investigation identified the involved vehicle as a 2014 Dodge Caravan. Authorities previously reported that four minors under the age of 16 were traveling in the van at the time of the crash, and investigations related to the case are ongoing.

Mexican man dies after ICE operation in Texas

HOUSTON – Authorities are investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday morning in the area of Canal Street and Sgt. Macario García Drive in Houston's East End, which left one man dead. According to preliminary information, the emergency call was received around 6:51 a.m. Houston Police arrived first at the scene, along with personnel from the Houston Fire Department. In a statement, ICE reported that 'agents were attempting to apprehend a man during an immigration operation when he allegedly tried to evade arrest, collided with an agency vehicle, and used his car in an attempt to run over an agent.' According to ICE, 'an agent fired his weapon in self-defense. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.' In earlier statements to Telemundo Houston, Ronaldo Salgado, who identified himself as the victim's son, claimed that his father, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, had been shot while looking for workers in the area.
