Thermos Recalls 8.2 Million Bottles After Caps Eject, Causing Injuries and Vision Loss

· Telemundo McAllen (KTLM)

Thermos is recalling 8.2 million bottles after consumers reported injuries from cuts—and, in some cases, permanent vision loss—when caps forcefully ejected from the products and struck them in the face. The recall includes approximately 5.8 million Stainless King food containers and 2.3 million Sportsman bottles for food and beverages. According to a recall notice issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on April 30, consumers should immediately stop using the affected products. The affected models include Thermos Sportsman bottles for food and beverages: all units of model SK3010; food containers and bottles for food and beverages: all units of models SK3000 (16 ounces), SK3020 (24 ounces), and SK3010 (40 ounces); and Thermos Stainless King food containers manufactured before July 2023: models SK3000 and SK3020. The model number can be found on the bottom of the item.
