Two-a-Day Tour 2026: McAllen Memorial Mustangs
· KRGV (NBC 5)
The McAllen Memorial Mustangs aim to defend their undefeated district championship this season, although their roster has significantly changed. Only four players return, with junior Aaron Ponce stepping in as the new starting quarterback. Senior running back Braxton Speights, who rushed for 2,080 yards last season, is a key player. Head Coach Moses Patterson remains optimistic about the team's potential, emphasizing their goal to be the best in McAllen Memorial's history. The Mustangs will face tough non-district opponents like Sharyland and Weslaco before starting district play in week four against a crosstown rival.
