The Eagle Pass Police Department, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, apprehended Mendiola at Port of Entry II. He is one of three individuals charged in the murder of 42-year-old Genaro Urbano Gomez Castillo, who was shot on May 21, 2021, in Cameron Park, Brownsville.
