The city of Primera will hold a distribution this Monday, June 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 17635 Primera Road. Meanwhile, Hidalgo County Precinct 1 will conduct a self-service sandbag distribution in Mercedes from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Park, located on FM 1015, near Mile 11 North and Mile 1 1/2 East. Additionally, the city of Donna will offer distribution from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Public Works Department, located at 1304 Silver Ave., Donna. Authorities reported that a maximum of four bags will be allowed per residence and six per business, and proof of residency in Donna or commercial property ownership will be required. These measures are being implemented as much of the Valley remains under a level 3 out of 4 risk for excessive rain, a category indicating a significant threat of flooding.
