TEXAS – Tropical Storm Polo intensified into a Category 1 hurricane after forming on Sunday in the Pacific, off the coast of Mexico. A tropical storm watch has been issued for parts of southwestern Mexico, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). According to the NHC bulletin at 12:00 p.m. CT on Monday: Polo was located 270 miles southeast of Manzanillo, Mexico, and 190 miles southwest of Zihuatanejo, Mexico. It had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph and was moving east at 5 mph. Warnings and advisories: A tropical storm watch is in effect from Tecpan de Galeana to Punta San Telmo.
