· Telemundo McAllen (KTLM)

Edinburg, TX – Hidalgo County has unveiled a new resource guide designed to assist residents and families seeking support and services related to mental wellness. The Mental Wellness Resource Guide, Volume 6, was created to connect the community with reliable information about mental health, available services, and support options throughout Hidalgo County, in collaboration with the Hidalgo County Mental Health Coalition. The guide includes resources for counseling, education, hospitals, support services, grief counseling, assistance programs for individuals with substance use disorders, helplines, and other services focused on mental wellness. Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez stated: 'Mental wellness is an important part of our overall quality of life, and ensuring our residents know where to turn for help is a crucial part of building a healthier, stronger community. Life does not always take us through calm waters, but no one should go through tough times alone.' Judge Cortez also expressed hope that this guide will provide guidance to residents and families in times of need. In this sixth edition, the guide reflects Hidalgo County's commitment to making mental health information and resources easily accessible. Coalition members work together to evaluate and update available resources to ensure residents have access to useful information when seeking help for themselves, a family member, or someone they care about. The guide is available for free at www.hidalgocounty.us/hcmhc.
