MEXICO CITY — The southwest of Mexico was preparing on Wednesday for coastal flooding and landslides due to the rains generated by Hurricane Polo. The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) described Polo as an 'extremely dangerous' storm that would hit the Mexican state of Guerrero, submerging coastal areas with between 10 and 15 centimeters (4 to 6 inches) of rain through Thursday.
