Authorities Investigate Plane Crash That Left Five Dead in Central Texas

Officials are investigating a plane crash that occurred in Wimberley, Texas, on Thursday night, resulting in the deaths of five people. According to Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra, emergency crews responded to the area around 11:05 p.m. after receiving reports of a downed aircraft. The plane, identified as a Cessna 421C, was carrying five occupants, all of whom died upon impact. Authorities stated the aircraft was traveling at high speed at the time of the crash. Investigators confirmed there were no signs of an in-air collision. A second aircraft in the vicinity landed safely in New Braunfels. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and will lead the investigation into the cause of the accident. The identities of the victims will not be released until their next of kin have been informed.
