Brownsville ISD to Offer Virtual Sign Language Classes for Families and the Community

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Brownsville Independent School District (BISD) invites families and community members to participate in its virtual sign language classes for the 2026-2027 school year. Organized by BISD Special Services, the program will offer introductory and intermediate level classes through virtual sessions on selected Wednesdays during the fall and spring semesters. Introductory classes, taught by Kaitlyn Morales, will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., while Sergio Saldana will lead the intermediate level, scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Fall semester dates include September 16, 23, and 30; October 7 and 28; and November 4, 11, and 18, 2026. For the spring semester, classes will continue on January 13, 20, and 27; February 3, 10, and 17; March 3 and 10; and April 7, 2027.
