Do You Use AI for Financial Advice? Many Do, but Few Trust It, Survey Reveals

Some American adults use artificial intelligence for financial guidance, but this technology is far from being the most trusted source of advice, according to a new Gallup survey conducted in collaboration with Edward Jones, a financial services firm. Approximately 1 in 5 Americans who sought financial advice in the past year turned to AI, the poll found. However, among all American adults, only about 3 in 10 have 'a lot' or 'some' trust in AI's ability to manage money, according to the survey results, with just 3% expressing 'a lot' of trust in it. The survey, conducted in the spring and focused on the opinions of adults over 21, identified a discrepancy between the sources Americans trust for financial advice and those they actually use. About 8 in 10 American adults have at least 'some' trust in financial advisors. Yet, only one-third of adults seeking financial guidance turned to a professional financial advisor, while a much larger proportion—73%—said they relied on their own internet research.
