"Go back to Mexico": Marriage proposal interrupted by racist comments

· Telemundo McAllen (KTLM)

Racist comments from a woman were captured on video after she confronted a photography team just minutes before they were set to capture a surprise marriage proposal in Laguna Beach, Southern California. Crescent Bay Park is a picturesque park located on a cliff, known for its stunning ocean views. This spectacular scenery was the reason Emmanuel Banuelos chose the location to propose to his girlfriend, after spending two months searching for the perfect spot. Banuelos prepared everything with the intention of creating the most romantic atmosphere possible: an ocean view, decorations, a mariachi band, and a photographer. However, he did not expect the celebration to be interrupted by another park visitor. The woman, upset by the event, approached the group and said she had just called the police. "(The police) are coming over here. They are going to force you to take everything down," the woman said in a video captured by the photographer's Meta lenses. "This happens every damn weekend. I’m fed up and tired of this."
