Mission breaks ground on $50M manufacturing facility

· KRGV (NBC 5)

Mission has officially begun construction on a $50 million aluminum recycling and manufacturing facility, the largest private investment in the city's history. Zerluma, the company behind the project, is building a 98,000-square-foot facility near the local hike and bike trails. This investment is expected to generate around 70 permanent jobs and between 250 to 300 construction jobs over the next two to three years. The Mission Economic Development Corporation anticipates that the facility will contribute $120 million to the local economy. The project will also focus on hiring local workers, with potential tax incentives being discussed.
