Community decorates car windows to support state-bound Sharyland Rattlers
· KRGV (NBC 5)
The Sharyland Rattlers baseball team is gearing up for the state finals this Friday, and community support is on the rise. Volunteers decorated car windows along Shary Road and Business 83 on Tuesday, using the school's red and white colors. Sharyland ISD teachers, including an art teacher, took part in the effort, which saw about 20 vehicles adorned with designs and messages in roughly 30 minutes each. Fans contributed $10 to $20 for the window paintings, raising about $200 for the team. The community is also encouraged to decorate storefronts in support. This marks the fifth time a Rio Grande Valley team has reached state finals since 2007.
