A popular baby remedy designed to help relieve gas and colic has been recalled after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported it contains undeclared levels of ethanol, methanol, and isopropanol. According to an announcement on October 6, Pacific Health Sciences recalled a batch of the Baby Sleep Gripe Water from the Babies’ Magic Tea brand. The announcement indicated that 4-ounce bottles with lot number 25122bw were sold nationwide through Amazon and other online retailers. As of Thursday, the product appeared to have been removed from Amazon's website. The bottles were recalled after FDA testing found the supplement contained ethanol, methanol, and isopropanol that were not declared on the label. The measured levels were approximately 8.3% ethanol, 0.35% methanol, and 0.48% isopropanol, the FDA reported. 'Their presence may pose a risk depending on the amount consumed and the age and body weight of the person using the product,' the announcement noted.
