Initial findings indicate that the Flydubai co-pilot, who allegedly attacked the captain and attempted to seize control of a flight to Israel, acted alone. U.S. officials and a former Israeli security official suggest this incident may be a case of 'lone wolf' terrorism inspired by online content. The co-pilot, identified as Hamam al-Hammami from Oman, reportedly attacked with an emergency axe, leading to injuries among crew and passengers. The flight, carrying 174 mostly Israeli passengers, was diverted to Saudi Arabia. Investigators are still determining the motives and any potential connections to organizations or states.
