Scottish Fans Test Beer Supplies in Boston During the World Cup
· Telemundo McAllen (KTLM)

Scottish football fans have been having a great time in Boston over the past week. The 'Tartan Army' has taken over restaurants and pubs, celebrated a triumphant return to the city after their 1-0 victory over Haiti on Saturday, and marched to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park on Sunday. They've also been drinking a lot of beer, so much so that some Boston bars ran out of stock. Sam Adams reported that their Boston location ran out of Samuel Adams Boston Lager over the weekend due to the Scottish football fans depleting their supplies. They noted that between Thursday and Sunday, the 'Tartan Army' consumed four times more Boston Lager than is typically sold during a typical four-day holiday period, like the Fourth of July. An emergency delivery had to be scheduled on Saturday morning to meet the demand. And they weren't the only ones. Hennessy’s bar in downtown Boston told The Boston Globe that they tripled their St. Patrick's Day sales and ran out of all their beer stock by Sunday night. 'We've been here for over 30 years and have never seen anything like this,' said Noelle Somers, Hennessy’s operations director. Meanwhile, Federal Wine & Spirits in the Financial District reported to the Globe that they ran out of Budweiser and Corona on Saturday, and one of their cooler doors broke due to the high frequency of opening and closing. Bars are expected to be restocking their supplies as Scotland's next scheduled match will see them face Morocco at Boston Stadium in Foxborough this Friday at 6:00 p.m.
