EDINBURG, Texas — The Edinburg Police Department is inviting the community to participate in a food drive aimed at helping families in need ahead of Thanksgiving. The initiative is part of 'Faith & Blue' and will allow residents to donate canned and non-perishable food items at five locations in Edinburg before a central event scheduled for Friday, October 9. The most needed items include canned meats such as tuna, chicken, and Spam; canned fruits and vegetables; soups, stews, chili, beans, and sauces. Those wishing to contribute can drop off their donations at the following locations: Edinburg Police Department: 1702 S. Closner Blvd.; Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home: 322 E. Kuhn St.; Emmanuel IPHC: 317 N. 18th Ave.; First Lutheran Church: 302 S. Sugar Rd.; First Baptist Church Edinburg: 201 E. Samano St. Additionally, a drive-thru collection event will take place on Friday, October 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church Edinburg, located at 201 E.
