STC Transforms Citations into Student Support

· Texas Border Business

South Texas College (STC) has launched a Parking Citation Forgiveness Program that has resulted in over 1,000 donations of food and self-care items. Since its February start, more than $9,000 in parking citations have been waived. Students can have their citations forgiven by donating seven qualifying items, which are less expensive than the citation fees. The initiative supports STC’s Food Pantry and Jaguar Self-Care Den, providing essential items to students in need. The program has adapted to focus more on ready-to-eat foods and personal care products, benefiting many students in the community.
