Woman Identified in Crash on FM 511 in Brownsville

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has identified the victim of a fatal head-on collision that occurred on Wednesday, July 22, on FM 511 in Cameron County. The deceased is Aglae Yunuen Patiño, a 34-year-old resident of Brownsville, who was a passenger in a 2007 Toyota Scion. Preliminary investigations reveal that the accident happened around 8:52 a.m. when a 2020 Kenworth towing a tank was traveling north on FM 511. The Toyota Scion was heading south in the opposite lane when it collided head-on with the truck, south of State Highway 48. The driver of the Toyota was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen and is in stable condition, while Patiño died at the scene. DPS is continuing to investigate the causes of the crash.
