Inspiring Adoption Stories in Telemundo's Special 'Empty the Shelters'

Telemundo stations will premiere a new edition of the special 'Empty the Shelters' this Friday, August 7, at 11:30 a.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. CT. The half-hour program will be hosted by Elva Saray and Yessi Hernández, presenters of Acceso Total, and will highlight some of the most inspiring stories from 'Empty the Shelters,' presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, the national pet donation and adoption campaign organized by Telemundo and NBC stations. The special will be available simultaneously through the regional streaming channels of Telemundo stations, where it will be rebroadcast throughout August: Noticias Telemundo Noreste, Noticias Telemundo Florida, Noticias Telemundo California, Noticias Telemundo Texas, and Noticias Telemundo Suroeste. Since its inception in 2015, 'Empty the Shelters' has facilitated over 1.3 million adoptions and raised more than $5.6 million for participating shelters. The 2025 campaign helped over 160,000 pets find new homes and raised more than $628,000 for participating animal shelters, achieving the highest fundraising amount since 2020.
